Ella Prakash and Kumi Ito presented by d-vers,com Online Gallery

Two very different contemporary artists have recently been added to d-vers.com.  The first is Kumi Ito, a Japanese artist, and the second is Ella Prakash, a Bahraini artist.

Kumi ito's paintings represent individuals in traditional kimono garb, acting playfully.  The scenes are peppered with small children, and they show many different aspects of life.  All of her paintings though display an ideal fantasy world reminiscent of Old Japan, where children are happy and playful.

The scenes are generally outdoors, during a summer rain or on a spring day

Kumi Ito
invites the viewer into her idealized fantasy world through her excellent use of color and composition.  Her palette features soft and gentle colors to evoke and enhance the pleasant mood of her paintings.

Ella Prakash is a Bahraini artist with a very different approach to her paintings.  She creates cubist and abstract style paintings filled with loud and bright colors.  Her artwork is abstract though also slightly representational, and it is when you are given the title of the piece, you begin to understand what the subject is.

Many of her paintings show cubist and abstract renderings of individual people and groups of people involved in activities, but some of her paintings can not be taken to represent any individual.

Ella Prakash has an excellent use of color in her paintings, and every color is placed in such a way that it conveys a certain mood.  Her bright and lovely colors are evocative of cubist as well as surrealist paintings, though her paintings themselves cannot be considered surrealist.

These two artists are currently featured on the website at d-vers.com, along with several other contemporary artists presented by the same gallery, the A. Jain Marunouchi Gallery.  The offerings of this gallery may be viewed here.
